Job Description

We, at TreeHouse school currently have a fantastic opportunity for a new Speech & Language Therapist to join our ambitious team on a permanent basis.

TreeHouse School is an Ofsted Outstanding non-maintained special school, providing support and education to over 95 pupils, aged 4-19. We are committed to supporting the work of trans-disciplinary team; where we provide pupils with opportunities to develop, maintain and progress, whilst ultimately improving their quality of life. You will join a trans-disciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Behaviour Analysts, Qualified Teachers, and Teaching Assistants.

Each team has its own lead professional who is also a practitioner in one of the settings. Regular team meetings are scheduled, whereby team members get to together to support and learn from each other. In addition, whole team CPD activities are arranged on an annual basis whereby team members can grow their skills from learning from external partners, each other and also from leading CPD sessions.

The successful candidate will provide Speech and Language Therapy for our pupils/students through devising and implementing a tiered provision

  • Universal training and strategies for school staff and families
  • Targeted group work within the class environment
  • Specialist support developing personalised AAC with students and supporting access to the community

You will play a key role in regularly reviewing, refining, and developing the speech and language therapy offer in line with the Ambitious Approach.

You will have a sound knowledge of using a wide range so Speech and Language Therapy methods and interventions for children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and other special educational needs.  You will also enable Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) to be implemented within agreed resources and for outcomes to be evidenced.
