Interflex are market leaders in flexible packaging, offering innovative packaging solutions across the globe. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Quality, Health & Safety Technologist to join us to be based in our offices in Sunderland. This dual health, safety and quality position requires an energetic, self-motivated person to take ownership of the company’s health and safety management system and provide active input to improving product quality standards.

If you come from a Health and Safety background or have a keen interest in the area, we love to hear from you. Forthe right individual we are happy to providetraining on the Quality aspects of the role and would assist with your NEBOSH certification as part of your development within the position.

Your responsibilities as Quality, Health & Safety Technologist:

Conduct risk assessments of all company activities and ensure appropriate safe guards and controls are implemented to minimize risks
Organise quarterly health and safety committee meetings, maintain minutes and monitor actions
Record accident and near miss incidents; conduct investigations and report health and safety statistics
Maintain stocks and control issue of personal protective equipment
Organise first aid training, lung function tests, audiometric testing and LEV / air quality monitoring
Check and record details of internal rejects and customer returns; assist in monthly stock take of quarantined items; raise supplier complaints
Liaison with suppliers, customers and site auditors; provide support on quality related issues
Raise root cause investigation for customer complaints and internal non-compliance issues

Our ideal Quality, Health & Safety Technologist would have the following:

Good experience within a Health and Safety role including;
Experience with Accident investigations and Risk Assessments
Candidates who have a Health and Safety Qualification such as an Iosh and Nebosh
Proactive and constructive approach problem solving
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
Good organisational and time management skills
