City’s Student & Academic Services Directorate provides professional, strategic and operational support for the student journey, from supporting young people to consider a university education through to engaging with students to support their future further study or employment.

City has committed to investment in modernising the administrative processes and systems that underpin the student journey through an institution-wide change programme – Modernising Administration for Students. This role will be will provide invaluable support to colleagues within the programme team and across the university to deliver effective business change.

Responsibilities
As part of a dynamic team, the successful candidate will undertake a broad range of duties to ensure the success of a range of projects within the Programme. These duties will span both project support and business process analysis. Working alongside project teams they will support project documentation, board meetings and reporting.

The Assistant Business Analyst and Project Support Officer will provide support to the MAfS Programme Board and the individual project boards. Through this role the successful candidate will develop the core skills of a business analyst through process analysis and design, requirements elicitation, user acceptance testing and rollout to users. The post-holder will build upon their stakeholder management skills by supporting the project manager in facilitating workshops, feedback sessions and other meetings. They will also assist in the creation and updating of key project artefacts, as well as, other forms of written and verbal communication to gain buy-in and support for the programme.

Person Specification
This is a blended role that will provide the ideal candidate with the opportunity to develop business analysis skills while at the same time leveraging their expertise supporting and managing formal committees. The post-holder will hone their analysis skills through workshop facilitation, process design and requirements engineering. They must have the ability to lead and influence stakeholders, have excellent communication skills and experience in identifying and embedding new ways of working.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a project environment and/or business analysis experience.

This post is being offered as a secondment and provides an excellent opportunity to enhance existing skills while gaining experience working on projects.
