Band 2 Medical Laboratory Assistant in Adult Histopathology

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Medical Laboratory assistant to join our busy Adult Histopathology department. As a Medical laboratory assistant in our department you will gain experience in many areas of Histopathology with support from a highly experienced and committed team of professionals.
You will work alongside Biomedical Scientists and Consultant Histopathologists to assist in the day to day running of histopathology to maintain service provision to include
Providing technical and preparatory support to the department.
To facilitate and support surgical dissection sessions with Medical and Biomedical Scientists.
To assist in the processing of specimens and analytical techniques.
Use and maintain both manual and automated equipment
You will have appropriate GCSE qualifications, grade C or above. Evidence of training and development within a Cellular Pathology department is essential. You will have good communication skills and be able to communicate with peers, senior staff and clinical users of service.
