Job Description

Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in Electric Power for Sustainable Transport. The successful candidate will join the Electrical Engineering Division to add to its expertise in Electrical Power Engineering. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in Engineering or a related discipline and ideally with post-doctoral experience. The candidate will perform research that addresses the challenges of making transportation sustainable through the use of electrical power, such as smart grids, battery technology, electric drives or power semiconductor devices. It is anticipated that this research will be multidisciplinary with potential for collaboration with colleagues in the fields of control, machine intelligence, transportation infrastructure and vehicle design.

The Lectureship will be within the Multiscale Power and Energy Systems Research Theme in the Electrical Engineering Division in the Engineering Department. There will be significant opportunities for wider collaboration across the Department through its strategic research theme in Energy, Transport and Urban Infrastructure . The successful applicant will be expected to develop a strong externally funded, globally recognized research program and to participate in the teaching mission of the Electrical Engineering Division as well as the wider Engineering Department.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Department and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading Engineering Departments.
