Capital programmes require an Assistant Project Manager to work across a diverse portfolio of works. The successful candidate will need to have an HNC or degree in construction or civil engineering related subject and also knowledge of project management within a construction related environment.
The Capital Programme Division reports to the City Treasurer and is responsible for developing and delivering Major and Minor Capital Programmes across the City. The current value of the programme is £130m pa.
The construction projects undertaken by the service are diverse and include works relating to the construction of schools, Marina’s, the replacement of the National Cycling track, leisure centre refurbishments/developments, the Wythenshawe Hall fire restoration works, community resource centres and new build housing programmes.
You will need to demonstrate your experience of being involved in project delivery and achieving positive project outcomes. You will also need an understanding of the key drivers of cost and value along with an awareness and understanding of building and planning legislation, CDM Regulations and JCT and NEC contract forms. Professionally you will be able to support the delivery and management of construction contracts from commencement to completion within approved budgets and timescales.
