About the Role:

We are looking to appoint a Clinical Psychologist with experience working with looked-after children and ideally experience in residential care or in-patient CAMHS. The role will include providing a highly specialist clinical psychology service to young people with Emotional and Behavioural difficulties within a bespoke brand new Children’s home.

Salary: £34,000-£38,000 DOE

Your responsibilities will include developing psychological formations for the children in our care to guide further assessment and prioritise intervention needs as well as evaluating and making decisions about different psychological interventions based upon the psychological formulations, risk assessments, and evidence-based research.

You will work directly with the children in our care providing a highly specialist clinical psychology service.

You will provide regular therapeutic consultation and guidance to staff working for Almond Care Children’s Services, as well as provide teaching and training to staff around attachment, trauma, and mental health issues.

You will actively contribute to care plans in order to provide co-ordinated psychological care for the children in our care.

You will attend clinical supervision in line with HCPC and BPS guidance on clinical supervision.

Successful applicants will need:

Highly developed communication skills (both verbally and written), with the ability to communicate highly complex, sensitive information to children, families, and other professionals

Experience with children, young people, and their families

HCPC Registration

Doctorate or equivalent qualification in clinical or counselling psychology

Skills and experience in complex psychological assessment, intervention, and management
