The Engineering Solutions Support function within Engineering Solutions is responsible for the technical support for all customer incidents and requests for service, relating to PLM and Engineering Solutions used throughout McLaren’s group of companies.
Engineering Solutions indicative tools used at McLaren are;
Computer Aided Design (CAD) – CATIA V5, 3DExperience, Nx
Product Data Management (PDM) – Enovia VPM V4, 3DCOM, 3DLive, 3DExperience, TeamCenter
Product lifecycle Management (PLM) – Bespoke systems, 3DExperience, SAP PLM
Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) – Abaqus, CCM+, Hyperworks, Dyna etc
Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) – various including DelCam, Vericut, PowerInspect
The Support Analyst is part of the Engineering Solutions support function and is responsible for:
Resolution of incidents and requests raised throughout the PLM application stack that is used across the McLaren Group.
Resolution of compound issues (Root cause analysis) Problem and Known Errors
Educating users to avoid errors
1st to 2nd line application support
Carrying out application administration and continuous improvements (small automations, reporting, upgrades etc)
All aspects of support and day to day operations, which include: advice and guidance on application functionality, best practice and data management; data exchange administration; hardware and software trouble shooting.
Close liaison with other support analysts, Engineering and PLM Process Owners; IT service desk and 2nd line IT support functions, Engineering Solutions end users.
Liaison and support for external suppliers and partners as appropriate.
Work as part of a team to meet and exceed the defined SLA’s.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Engineering/Computer Science Degree or related business discipline
Support experience (ITIL knowledge an advantage but not essential)
Knowledge of license management – FlexLm is desirable
Good understand of certain technical skills, Application Administration, SQL, Unix shell scripting, VBA, C++
Good Unix and / or Windows administration skills
Awareness engineering product life cycle
Knowledge of CAD/CAE/PDM/PLM applications at a Graduate level
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to prioritise and maintain professional attitude under pressure
Organised with a keen attention to detail
Collaborative approach to work and understands the importance of knowledge sharing amongst peers
