Job Description

Do you have excellent English-language skills? Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for grammar? Can you deliver high-quality English across different content types and for a variety of target audiences? Then our English Editor internship is for you! Working in our English Language Office in Sheffield, you will be responsible for delivering a range of projects on time and within budget for our clients.

Main duties:

Reviewing a variety of text types in various flavours of English to check spelling, grammar, clarity and style
Localising texts between different flavours of English
Transcribing English videos and audio files
Linguistic checking of files in their final format
Adhering to style guides
Working with clients, reviewers and project managers
Understanding and following SDL’s linguistic processes and procedures
Managing terminology effectively
Using translation tools
Managing your time effectively

Essential requirements:

A degree in English language/linguistics
An outstanding grasp of English spelling, grammar and punctuation
Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to detail
Good written/verbal communication
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Flexibility and a can-do attitude
Ambition and a desire to learn and progress
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
You must be a native English level speaker
