Job Description

The University of Nottingham’s Vet school is expanding and from April 2020 will have a second cohort of students starting their academic year at a non traditional time of the university calendar. The Department of Sport are responsible for delivering an outstanding sport and physical activity experience to support students during their time at UoN. University of Nottingham Sport are now collaborating with the vet school to provide a quality sporting experience for the new intake of students. Due to the expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a part time sports development officer to join the team to both coordinate and oversee this process and programme of work.

The Sports Development Officer will need an understanding of the HE sports sector and knowledge of the current challenges students face. They will have experience of working within a sports development environment and have experience of working alongside and with students. The successful candidate will evidence the ability to devise a project plan, work independently and as part of a team. The person will have an enthusiasm and passion for sport and have a flexible and creative approach.

The post will form part of the Participation sport team at UoN sport but will have regular interactions with colleagues and students from the Vet school also.

This role is available on a fixed term basis for a period of 9 months. Hours of work are part time (18 hours).
