About the role

We are looking for a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer to join our team to help revolutionise the way analog circuits are designed. This is an exciting position for an ambitious, enthusiastic engineer with a passion for complex analog circuit design. You will have the opportunity to design various circuit blocks in a wide range of CMOS process technologies.

You will be joining a highly experienced, proficient design team. You will need to be a good team player with a practical understanding of the IC design flow and have proven experience of taking designs from concept to mass production. This role would suit someone who has a systematic approach to circuit design.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, definition and implementation of analogue blocks and circuits
  • Taking the Technical lead in Block/Macro development, considering design, customer and business requirements to meet the goal
  • Investigation and decisions for architectural needs and options in analogue circuits
  • Support and mentoring for less experienced analog engineers
  • Layout of analog circuits, either through direct activities or support to layout engineers
  • Documentation for design details, decisions and verification of analogue circuit designs
  • Behavioural modelling for circuits and circuit architectures
  • Support silicon validation and debugging
  • Support and practice top-down design planning and implementation

Essential requirements:

  • A systematic, hands-on approach to circuit design
  • MSEE in a relevant field and industry experience (or equivalent)
  • Experience in one or more of the following blocks:
  • Clock generation: PLL, DLL, VCO
  • Data converters: ADC, DAC – high speed and high resolution
  • Sensor interface circuits (temperature, capacitive etc)
  • Cell Specification, Design, Layout and Verification
  • Experience in behavioural circuit modelling
  • Good English communication skills
  • Nice to haves:

Macro-level experience: integration, verification and tape-out

Programming experience: Matlab, Python, C, linux

Team-lead experience

Packaging knowledge (CSP, BGA, etc.)

CMOS RF circuit design experience

CMOS process & design flow (CAD/PDK) knowledge

Knowledge of Cadence design tools and environment and also Mentor Calibre verification suite
