Job Description

We are always looking for enterprising and innovative approaches to the way we provide our services. We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes. Community matters to us and we are supported by 400 dedicated volunteers and have strong links with Bradford University, Craven College and Leeds City College to ensure we inspire the workforce of the future.

We want to attract staff who embrace our ‘Right Care’ behaviours of compassion, a commitment to quality of care and working together for patients – we want to make these part of our DNA.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic and motivated individuals to join the enthusiastic consultants in the acute paediatric service at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. The department offers a supportive and encouraging environment in which to develop as a professional.

The substantive posts have been developed due to the reconfiguration within the acute paediatric team. We would welcome applicants with sub-specialty interests to complement the existing team.

Applicants should possess, or be within 3 months of receiving, a CCT at the time of the advisory appointments committee.

The appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service.

Our high performing Hospital is led by people who believe that a fantastic quality of life can go hand-in-hand with progressive working practices.

Our award winning hospital is also in an award winning location providing genuine opportunities for a great work-life balance. Yorkshire has recently been voted as the third best region in the world by Lonely Planet, and our local town of Skipton has been voted as the best place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times, commending its top class schools, great transport links, low crime and beautiful surrounding countryside.

We are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of any protected characteristics. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled applicants where required.

We welcome applicants with lived experience of providing unpaid care and/or support to a family member or friend with a disability, health condition, frailty, mental health problem, addiction or other health and care needs.

NOTE: This vacancy may close before the advertised closing date if sufficient suitable applications are received.
