This is a unique opportunity for a creative and forward-thinking physiotherapist to be part of a team establishing a therapy service in the new, purpose-built Valley View rehabilitation facility. Within the role there is scope to develop leadership skills and innovative ways of working.
To fulfil the requirements of the post you will need to have broad range of clinical knowledge and skills and an understanding of dementia care. The post is based at Valley View in Keighley where you will be planning and implementing goal-orientated, person-centred rehabilitation for patients in up to 30 beds, for them to return to their own home or appropriate care setting. Valley View also has provision for winter escalation beds and shares its site with an Extra Care facility, Fletcher Court. These services are staffed separately.
You will work collaboratively with occupational therapists employed by the Local Authority to build and develop a cohesive Therapy Team. You will play a key part within the MDT and the wider community. The role will include helping to embed a culture of rehabilitation within Valley View and support to care assistants to deliver elements of the rehab plan.
There will also be an expectation to cross work between Valley View and Thompson Court as required to cover for annual leave, sickness or provide skill sharing opportunities.
Valley View will be an outward-facing hub for community activity, encouraging and welcoming community groups and services to have a presence in the facility and be a part of its development. The Therapy Team will support and contribute to this development.
Supervision and line management will be provided for you by the Therapy intermediate care Team Leader. You will be expected to undertake the supervision and development of others including Band 5 physiotherapists and students. There will also be opportunities to deliver awareness training and support to care assistants.

You will need:
- A Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in physiotherapy,
- HCPC registration
- Recent experience of working with people with complex health needs in acute and /or community settings
- Effective communication skills,
- Excellent organisational skills
- An ability to work collaboratively and flexibly
- Access to transport
