Applications are invited for up to 3 Lecturer (Teaching & Research) posts in the School of Computer Science & Informatics at Cardiff University. These are full-time, open-ended posts starting on 1 July 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidates will be dedicated to finding creative solutions and have a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to undertake world-class research relevant to at least one of the School’s research groups.
We particularly welcome applications in the areas of:
Theoretical and data-driven cyber security
Artificial intelligence and machine learning
Human factors and HCI
Scalable data analytics
Text mining and NLP
Machine learning for image, video and 3D data processing and analysis
Internet of Things
Computer graphics or applied geometric computing
You will have the ability and enthusiasm to deliver high-quality teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas of computer science, informatics or software engineering.
You will possess or be near completion of a PhD in an area related to Computer Science or have relevant industrial experience. Applications from candidates with suitable experience in a commercial or public sector environment are welcome. We particularly welcome applications from women who are under-represented within Cardiff University in this field. Applications for posts on a part-time or job-share arrangement would also be considered.

The School of Computer Science & Informatics includes the National Software Academy (NSA), which is based in Newport and delivers industry-focused undergraduate and postgraduate Software Engineering programmes that include modules on software development skills, mobile development, security, performance, DevOps and emerging technologies.
Teaching in the School covers two sites, with Software Engineering delivered at the NSA in Newport, and all other programmes delivered at our Cardiff site.

The appointments will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6 and 7 scales, currently £33,199 – £39,609 per annum (Grade 6); £42,036 – £48,677 per annum (Grade 7).
