Job Description

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant subject area.  A postdoctoral and/or equivalent industrial experience is also essential. Candidates on a T&R track will ideally have demonstrated success in research through attaining internationally ranked publications in the field of genomics and/or bioinformatics. The College of Human Sciences and School of Medical Sciences, through the University, has formally linked with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board enabling an integrated approach to developing research, training, medical and healthcare education that will serve the needs of North Wales. The current research focus within the School of Medical Sciences is in cancer biology and genetics, centred in the North West Cancer Research Institute. A research interest in human disease or model systems relevant to human disease is essential if appointed on a T&R track.

Main teaching duties will include delivering, supporting, and developing our new MSc in Genomics and Precision Medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of driving the success of this course, including formal taught modules, small study groups and co-ordination/delivery of masters research projects.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable  for this post. The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible and is for a fixed-term period of 3 years in the first instance.
