Job Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Dr Fengzhu Xiongs’ Developmental Mechanics group at the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute at University of Cambridge. The group focuses on studying the cellular and physical mechanisms of morphogenesis in development using quantitative approaches (https://www.gurdon.cam.ac.uk/research/fengzhu-xiong). This position is designed to prepare the candidate for leading her/his independent research group in interdisciplinary developmental biology. The successful candidate will conduct cutting edge research with a high level of independence and close support of the PI, and enjoy the collaborative and interdisciplinary environment of the Institute and the University.

Applicants with a PhD (or expecting to be awarded a PhD shortly) in any related science field, with a strong interest/curiosity in developmental biology and morphogenesis are encouraged to apply. They are expected to demonstrate independent thinking and creativity. Prior experience in developmental biology, imaging, soft matter physics, modelling or programming are helpful but not essential.
