Main purpose of the role:
As a Technology Placement Trainee you will gain an unrivalled insight into the workings of the business and have an incredible opportunity to develop a wide range of technical skills.

Our Technology Placement Programme is a full time 12-month programme where you will gain new skills and develop existing ones whilst obtaining a comprehensive understanding of how the Company’s IT business areas operate. During the Technology Placement Programme you will undertake the following activities:
6-month Overview of Verastar & our Technology Teams – start building your core technical skills with your technical ‘home’ team and by spending time with technology and ‘End User’ teams to gain understanding of how Technology is used by Verastar.
6-month Deep dive into Technology & business change – shadowing a major business change project to understand how technology drives our growth.
2 business projects – working with senior business leaders and other students on the programme, the projects will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your technical skills and abilities and directly impact change in the Company.
At the end of this placement successful students may receive a conditional offer to return to work with us after the completion of their studies.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
We are keen to develop a diverse and varied workforce, we accept applications from students who are currently studying Computer Science or any related computing / IT degree discipline, with a minimum of 2:1 expected result. In addition, you will need to show the following:
Understanding or experience of working with one or more of the following:
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS)
Test Management Tools (Test Lodge, TestCaseLab, PactiTest or similar)
Confidence, enthusiasm and a drive to succeed in a business environment
Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
Organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills
A team focus and ability to communicate at all levels, from front line staff to members of senior management, including Company Directors
Flexibility, adaptability and desire to support the future growth of the business
University course that offers appropriate gap in studies such as Sandwich/Placement year
Eligibility to live and work permanently in the UK
