Who is responsible?

Tier2Jobs operates Tier2Jobs and is responsible for the personal information used to provide this job-board service. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@tier2jobs.co.uk.

What we collect

For accounts, we collect your name, email address, account type, password hash and account activity needed to operate and secure the service. We send email-verification and password-reset messages. If you choose Google Sign-In, we receive your Google account identifier, name and email address and store the identifier to connect your account. Google passwords, inbox contents and access or refresh tokens are not stored by Tier2Jobs. Google Sign-In is optional; email/password registration remains available. Employers can supply company details, a website, a logo and vacancy information.

When you choose to apply through Tier2Jobs, we store your application name, contact email, covering message, CV and application status. Please include only information needed for the vacancy. We do not ask candidates for bank details, payment-card information or identity documents.

Why we use it

We use account and application information to provide the services you request, including sending your application to the advertising employer. The lawful basis is performance of our service contract, or steps taken at your request before entering it. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate security, fraud prevention and moderation, taking account of your rights. We use information to meet legal obligations where these apply.

The application checkbox confirms your instruction to share that application with the named employer. Advertising consent is separate and optional. We do not use CVs to build a public candidate directory or for marketing.

Who receives an application?

Your stored application and CV are accessible through the service to you and the employer advertising that vacancy. They are not available to other candidates or unrelated employers. The site operator and authorised hosting or technical providers may process information as necessary to support the service.

If you choose an external application link, you provide your application directly to the destination employer or recruitment platform under its own privacy notice. Tier2Jobs does not receive the CV or application you submit on that external site.

How long we keep it

We keep an internal application and its CV while the vacancy is open, then for up to 30 days after its closing date or the date it is closed or rejected, whichever ends the vacancy first. Our scheduled daily cleanup removes these records. You can delete your own application earlier from My applications. Deleting a record here does not remove copies already downloaded by the employer.

Candidate account details remain while you maintain an account. You can delete your candidate account and its stored applications from My applications. We retain employer account, profile, moderation and payment-instruction records while needed to provide the service and deal with requests or legal obligations; contact us to request review or deletion. We review information for continued necessity rather than retaining it for unrelated future uses.

Used or expired account tokens and rate-limit records are cleared by scheduled maintenance. Hosting, email delivery and backups may retain limited records separately under the relevant provider and operator retention arrangements. Contact us for current details; backup records must be allowed to expire and must not be restored for ordinary use after a deletion request.

Security, cookies and providers

Passwords are stored as hashes. CVs are held in protected application storage and downloads require an authorised signed-in account. Essential session cookies protect sign-in and forms. Server and email systems may record connection and delivery information for security and troubleshooting. See our cookie information.

We use hosting and email providers to operate the service. If advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, cookie choices and information about ad interactions. Optional advertising choices are handled through the consent controls. Depending on providers, information may be processed outside the UK; applicable international-transfer safeguards are required. Contact us for details of the providers, locations and safeguards used for this service.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing where the relevant right applies. You can change or withdraw optional advertising consent through the consent controls. Contact info@tier2jobs.co.uk; we may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Employer responsibilities

Employers are responsible for their own recruitment decisions, downloaded applications, security and retention. They must use candidate information only for appropriate recruitment purposes and provide their own privacy information where required.
