Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an administrator to provide support to the University of Sheffield Medical School
Ethics lead and Designated Individual (DI) in relation to the ethics process, governance of studies and the Human tissue
samples held within the Sheffield Biorepository. This is to ensure that the Medical School, in liaison with Research Services,
meets its obligations under relevant legislation and to minimise potential risk to the University.
You will be responsible for the administration of the Medical School ethics process, ensuring applications are dealt with in a
timely fashion, providing advice and guidance to applicants on research ethical requirements and processes related to the
application procedure. You will also be responsible for the monitoring of the research governance requirements for
university sponsored studies as well as the human tissue banks and the Biorepository, ensuring compliance with relevant
legislation in liaison with the DI and research Services.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a
competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and
development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions
complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research,
teaching and student experience.
