Job Description

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and youngpeople with autism. We provide education and employment services, raise awareness and understanding and campaign for change. Through ourOfsted Outstanding and Good provisions; Ambitious College, TreeHouse School and The Rise School, we offer specialist education and support

We are always looking to improve our services and are looking for a Clinical/Educational Psychologist to apply psychological research and theory to support the development of psychologically healthy education settings that improve the psychological wellbeing of students and staff and to reduce distress.

Key skills:

  • To have high-level knowledge, and use of, a wide range of psychological theories, approaches and interventions, and their application in education settings, for children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and other special educational needs
  • Have sound knowledge and awareness of the significance of interpersonal relationships, at community, workplace, school and family levels, in influencing mental health and well‐being.
  • Contribute to, and evaluate, the training and development of teachers, parents and other professionals
  • Help staff identify normal distress and what is likely to help, and to signpost when more specialist help may be needed.
