ETAS’s UK centre of excellence for software engineering is based in York and going through a significant growth period.

ETAS develop world leading operating systems, middleware, development tools, cyber security libraries and calibration tools for use in automotive software development. Job Description

You will be responsible for delivering AUTOSAR development tool solutions that augment the ETAS ISOLAR/RTA product portfolio.

Working within our product development group, you will deliver client-driven projects ranging from technical proofs-of-concept through to series production development.

You will have full responsibility for requirements elicitation, project estimation, project delivery and in-field service of the solutions you lead. For larger projects, you will be required to work with off-shore development teams.

Some solutions may need to ship with evidence to enable an ISO26262 safety argument to be constructed up to ASIL-D.

The role demands that you can work on multiple projects simultaneously, resolving all challenges and ensuring demonstrable progress.

Some travel will be required within Europe as projects demand.

Qualifications

A degree in  Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

Demonstrable experience in the development of PC-hosted tools built with Java on the Eclipse platform.

– Ideally in the field of AUTOSAR configuration or C/C++ code generation tools (and preferably both).

– Experience with templating technologies like OAW, eXtend, TT2 or similar.

– Knowledge of the AUTOSAR methodology in general and the ARTOP data model in particular.

Strong project management skills with proven ability to lead internationally distributed development projects. You will be able to take control of a project, work without supervision and deliver results to customers with challenging timescales.

Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written). German language skills would be a distinct advantage.

Ability to travel to Europe and internationally.

A “can do” attitude rounds out your profile.

It would be great if you had any of the following experience also:

Knowledge of safety standards such as ISO 26262 or equivalent.

Scripting languages such as Python or Ruby.

Unit and integration test frameworks.

Experience with modern SW development practices (Agile, TDD, CI/CD, SAFe, etc.) and the ability to apply them pragmatically to projects.
