Job Description

Glasgow Caledonian University is a vibrant, multi-cultural and modern university in the centre of Glasgow, and is placed amongst the top 50 universities globally (THE Impact rankings, 2020).  Our welcoming community of 20,000 students, from more than 100 countries, enjoy a wide range of award-winning support services and state of the art facilities across each of our campuses in Glasgow, London and New York.  Our University mission – with its commitment to the Common Good and core values of integrity, creativity, responsibility and confidence – is integral to everything we do.

We are looking to appoint a Learning and Teaching Administrator to work within the Directorate of School Professional Services in the cross school Central Academic Support Team (CAST).

You will be responsible to the CAST Advisor/Team Lead for the implementation of administrative duties across the academic year for activities that underpin learning and teaching and for providing support to the Learning Development Centres (LDC), helping to ensure the delivery of an excellent student experience.

We are looking for an experienced administrator with excellent organisational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic and committed to providing high quality customer care.  Candidates should possess a good knowledge of University administration and an understanding of quality procedures, be educated to HNC level or equivalent and have well developed IT skills to include relevant office systems and database packages including MS Office.

As the University for the Common Good, we are committed to embedding equality and diversity, as well as our values in everything that we do.  As such, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who demonstrate the GCU Values.

Glasgow Caledonian University is committed to a fair and transparent recruitment process that is free from bias so that we can attract and retain a high performing workforce which makes a critical contribution to our success.

As a Disability Confident ‘Committed’ employer, we are striving to ensure that our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities. Although the Disability Confident ‘Committed’ level does not guarantee an interview for disabled applicants, we will make reasonable adjustments for applicants with a disability during the recruitment process.

The University offers a range of benefits including opportunities for professional development, family friendly policies, cycle to work scheme and onsite childcare facilities.

We are currently making updates to the VISA section of our application process.  Should you require sponsorship please select that you require Tier 2 sponsorship and we will be in touch with you to gather further information should you be shortlisted for this role.

Please note that the appointment will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).
