Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to join a friendly, welcoming team in the role of Vocational Education Tutor to support our Healthcare Apprenticeship programmes.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is developing the carers of the future through innovative teaching and learning opportunities. You will be supporting learners in clinical practice and through direct education provision.

This gives you the opportunity to retain clinical skills and also to use and develop teaching practice. It is a very exciting time to be part of apprenticeship education and you will be nurturing the apprentices at the beginning of their journey into the healthcare profession.

We are looking for someone who has a registration qualification in a Healthcare related subject and has recent clinical experience within an acute or community setting. You will be required to hold a teaching qualification for example a Certificate in Education. It would be advantageous to hold a relevant assessors award such as a D32/33, A1 or TAQA or be willing to work towards it. Ideally, you will also have an internal verifier’s award, this being a D34 or be willing to study for this qualification.

Consideration will be given to appointing Nursing or HCPC registrants with relevant experience.

The working hours are 22.5 per week.

Closing date: 05/02/2021

Our values guide everything we do. At all times, we aim to:

  • Demonstrate compassion
  • Strive for excellence
  • Respect diversity
  • Act with integrity
  • Listen and support others

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. For further information and to self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship, please visit the UK Border Agency website. Note: we will be unable to obtain Tier 2 sponsorship for Bank positions.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applicants.
